Ingram Road School Choir attend Young Voices
If you’re not familiar with Young Voices, for the past 20 years, Young Voices has staged the largest children's choir concerts in the world. Over 2 million children have taken part in a Young Voices concert inspiring the next generation to find their love for music and create memories that will last a lifetime. School choirs from around the country will take part in what is expected to be an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Between 5,000-8,000 children perform as a single choir to an arena sized audience singing music specially selected to create a diverse musical repertoire all with the intention to introduce children to the widest possible spectrum of music. The choir will perform with a full 7-piece live band made up of some of the UK’s leading musicians, backing singers, and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence – it makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.
Through this experience we hope to inspire families to connect through music and to share in the learning experience when children practice at home. We do hope that you will be able to support your child in learning the songs and encourage them to attend all of the practices every week.
We hope you will encourage your child to learn all of the songs as they need to know them by heart – we hope you enjoy practicing together!
To take part in this wonderful experience our school choir will practice every Friday evening between 3.15pm and 4.15pm until the main event which will take place at Sheffield Arena on January 13th 2020.
At a later date we will provide information about how parents can attend the performance in Sheffiled, or if you’re unable to make it to the event, there will be an opportunity to buy the DVD of the concert that your child appears in.
