If you are having financial difficulties, maybe you have lost your job or just finding things really tight, it can get harder during the school holidays when children are at home. Maybe they are entitled to free school meals during term time, but what can you do during school holidays?
Summer 2021
Monday 26th July 2021
Dear Parents/Carers
You may be aware that the Government have again confirmed that they will fund free school meals over the Summer holiday period by providing shopping vouchers for children and families who are currently entitled to Free School Meals. The vouchers are provided with the intention of parents being able to buy food, you will not be able to buy products that are for over 18s (such as alcohol or tobacco products).
Children entitled to means tested benefits (not Working tax credits) will be issued with a £15 voucher for each week of the holidays, via email/text message. You will soon receive a message asking you to register and select the supermarket you would like a voucher for. Once you have chosen a supermarket you CAN NOT swap.
You will receive a £15 voucher for each child on:
Tuesday 27th July 2021
Tuesday 3rd August 2021
Tuesday 10th August 2021
Tuesday 16th August 2021
Tuesday 24th August 2021
Tuesday 31st August 2021
You will be able to select which supermarket you want to spend your vouchers in and these include:
ASDA
Morrissons
Tesco
Sainsburys
Aldi
Iceland
If you do not want to participate and receive a voucher, please ignore the email/text – and your child’s allocation will be re-distributed to other families.
Please follow the instructions in the email/text you receive to claim your vouchers. Please note that if you have not selected your supermarket by Friday 30th July we will assume you do not wish to claim the vouchers.
Vouchers will be provided to you via email/text ONLY. For more information please visit the school website
On behalf of myself, all of the staff and the School Governing Body, we wish you a very happy, safe and healthy summer holiday!
Yours faithfully
