PE and Sport Premium

School PE & Sport Funding

School Sport Funding is money that is provided by the government to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of Physical Education, sport and physical activity within schools.  Our school has been in receipt of additional government funding specified as ‘Sport Premium’, the current funding is based on a standard grant of £8000 plus £5 per child on roll.

Schools can spend the Sport Premium how they wish to ensure the funding is used to maximise opportunities for physical activity, physical education and school sport for all children within their setting.

As a school we are held accountable for how we use the additional funding, and part of our responsibility as a school is to publish online information about how we have invested in the government funding and what impact it has made.

In summary, we intend to utilise the extra funding to improve all aspects of Physical Education, sport and physical activity. Increasing pupil participation, professional development of staff, provision of external coaching and additional sport equipment and resources.

How to Use the PE & Sport Funding, Funding Allocations

Evidencing the Impact of PE Sport Funding

The information below, relates to funding in previous years and the impact the funding has had. Our consistent approach to ensuring we continually improve our PE & Sport provision has been acknowledged through the School Games Awards, for which we have achieved the Silver award in 2014/15 and Gold mark in 2015/2016, 2016/17 & 2017/2018 consecutively and are already planning for another Gold in 2018/19 !

This is testament to the continual analysis and planning of the PE & Sport provision within school and it's extra curricular sporting activities. We strive to ensure all children at Ingram Road can access a wide range of stimulating physical activity for at least 30 minutes every day during the school day, with our intention to increase participation to an hour every day.
